About Us
We are a developing community of supportive neighbours in the second half of our lives, coming together in a beautiful, eco-friendly and accessible environment. We aim to create a diverse mix of residents, enjoying some shared spaces both indoors and out, whilst balancing privacy and independence with responsible interdependent living - and actually having a lot of fun together too!

What is Cohousing?
It is a way of living in intentional community, with private homes,
shared spaces, and nurturing connection through collaborative
decision-making. A way of addressing the isolation people can
experience, particularly in later years.
Cohousing is residents coming together to manage their
community, share activities, as a more sustainable and sociable
alternative to conventional housing.

Who we are?
Cohousing Exeter is a newly forming group, looking for people,
interested in neighbourly living and active aging with some
shared spaces, alongside our own homes.
The exciting news is that we have an enabling developer on
board. AspenHof have a wealth of experience in building
sustainably. There is a clear site for around 30-35 homes near the
heart of Exeter.
CommunityLed.Homes are facilitators supporting future
residents in this process, and bring specialist expertise in all
aspects of cohousing.
A chance to get involved in shaping the design of this exciting
project to build sustainable homes with community living baked
into the foundations.
If you are interested in living with a greater sense of community,

Respect for each other
Promoting goodwill and trust, treating each other with consideration as equals, and accepting each other as we are.
Our Values:
Our values are our bedrock and guide all that we do. All members commit to them. (Adapted from Still Green Cohousing with our thanks) .

Personal responsibility
With everyone contributing in different ways at different times, according to our gifts and experience and in different amounts according to individual circumstances.
Fostering good relationships
Seeking ways to be considerately truthful, to listen hard and communicate gently.
Decision-making
Everyone having a voice, being heard and respected. We are developing a decision-making process which will be transparent and clear, take into account everyone’s view and get things done. We do not want to spend our time in endless meetings.
Integration
Aiming to make a positive contribution socially and culturally to the life of the wider community: both as individuals engaging in local activities and as a group welcoming others to enjoy our shared facilities
Sustainability
Wanting our way of life to be eco-friendly with low energy homes, as much natural light as possible and sharing of resources. Some of us may want to grow our own food.
Diversity
Welcoming people from all backgrounds and supporting principles of equality and inclusion.
