Open Day

13th June2026

An all-day drop-in meeting held at St Katherine's Priory in Exeter was attended by people interested in learning more about Exeter Cohousing. Multiple sessions led by Rosie Hydar and Phillip Douch, two of the founding members of Exeter Cohousing, formed the backbone of the day. They explained the scheme from its inception through to the current situation where initial planning application is on the verge of being submitted.

But, to be successful, the program needs more people! Guests were shown what it takes to become a member of the group and briefed on everything from the layout and types of private homes that will be available, to the shared facilities and community spaces.

Questions were answered by the team and also Charles Taylor, project manager on behalf of the developer, Aspen. Refreshments were organised by co-founding member Janet Carter to keep everyone enthused and up to speed. Many of the visitors were also able to take trips to the site and see for themselves the lush location where, in just a few short years, there will be a vibrant and active community of caring neighbours living in and sharing the space.
